Your username is the first part of your email address (the bit before the @).
You would have set up a unique password when first accessing Horizon. It is not your DPN password. You can reset your password if you have forgotten it. You will need access to your DPN email address to reset your password.
After successfully entering your username and password, you will need to enter a two-factor authentication (TFA) code. This may be delivered to your DPN email address or via an app you have previously set up.
In Zone 3 or above buildings you use Email Code Delivery for two-factor authentication (TFA) as you will not be able to access your personal devices.
Yes. You can have a TOTP app and email code delivery. This makes it easy to access Horizon from work and from personal devices.
To reset your password, you will need access to your account email (your Defence email). To begin the process, enter your account details on the Forgot your password form and then check your email and follow the instructions.
We recommend using an Authenticator app on your personal device to access Horizon. If you work in a secure area, we also recommend setting up email code delivery.
If you’re currently using a fleet email address, you can check the “Also send recovery details to Fleet address” to also receive the recovery email via your fleet email.

Yes, Horizon supports the use of fleet emails alongside standard email addresses.
You can check the fleet option when registering or resetting passwords.
You can also ensure other account communications go to your fleet address by checking “I am currently using an @fleet.defence.gov.au e-mail address” in “My Account”.
If you cannot access your Defence email to verify your account, reset your password, or register, then you can contact horizon.navy@defence.gov.au who may be able to verify you manually.
Every 12 months you are required to verify that you are still a Defence member to continue to access Horizon. An email will be sent to you to initiate the verification process.
